ABOUT SHEELAGH MCNAMARA

At this moment time we are faced with the challenge of adapting our style to a virtual medium. It is difficult to communicate empathy via a screen because virtual communication minimises so many of the subtle non verbal cues that we rely on.

We need to be immediately credible and also able to create relationship in a virtual world. To have clear actionable communication skills that will have an immediate impact. Not only that, our messaging needs to be shared in a way that communicates complex ideas in a clear and concise manner.

Sheelagh specialises in preparing senior leaders to excel in a virtual environment.

One of Sheelagh’s key strengths is the ability to provide detailed analysis and technical training on verbal communication skills and the effective delivery of leadership speeches.

Sheelagh’s extensive experience in both the public and private sectors includes: government, technology, aerospace, pharmaceuticals, oil & gas, banking, financial services, management consultancy, shipping, telecoms, media, fashion and luxury goods.

Sheelagh holds a Post Graduate Diploma (PGDVS) in Voice Studies from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, London University. She is a qualified teacher and holds the Professional Certificate in Executive Coaching from Henley Business School. Sheelagh is a Practitioner of NLP and a trainer for the Dale Carnegie organisation in Canada. She co-designed and is the lead tutor for The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) flagship programme, ‘Executive Presence for Women’.

Sheelagh believes that our success in the world is determined by our ability to communicate and influence in the critical moments that matter most. Investing time and resources into refining your communication skills brings long term benefits and exponential returns to your career.

Sheelagh’s coaching is bespoke, conducted in complete confidence and typically by referral.

CLIENTS INCLUDE

“ … You proved yourself a true professional from the first day we worked together. You had reviewed tapes of my speeches and a debate before meeting me. We had thirty minutes to go before the next debate. In that time you summarised your observations and gave me three suggestions for improvement in my delivery. I incorporated your suggestions and immediately noticed a difference. I particularly want to commend you on your ability to work under pressure, for your patience and your ability to work with my communications staff. You became a member of the team instantly and your observations on messaging were incredibly helpful. We often worked together in less than ideal situations – a hotel lobby, a taxi, a kitchen, a room full of people – yet you remained calm, focused and pleasant.

If you can work successfully under the pressure of a leadership campaign surrounded by political pundits, I believe you are the best in your field!”
